Get to Know: Tom Clause

By April 29, 2021April 13th, 2022Team Profiles

Meet Tom Clause, our Director of Sales. You’ll find Tom on the front lines managing the sales team, and working behind the scenes to make Calyx as good as it can be. Tom has an intense work ethic who loves what he does.

There’s a lot riding on what we do every day and we’re driven to deliver because the company is counting on us. Look, every company has a sales organization, but I choose Calyx over others because of the culture. They understand the human side of running a business. They understand motivators, goals, and recognition — the things that are critical to an effective sales team.

What do you appreciate most about Calyx?

We are venerable and honest with each other, which creates a trusting and supportive work environment. We all have clear ownership of our roles with defined measurables and goals. We are each provided the tools and freedom to do our jobs and we are accountable to each other.

What / Who inspires you?

  • My family inspires me to be the best version of myself possible.
  • I’m inspired by people who volunteer time and energy to help others without asking for anything in return but do it out of the kindness of their hearts.
  • Leaders who do the “right thing” regardless of cost inspire me.
  • My co-workers going the extra mile to help a client inspires me to work harder and perfect my craft.

How do you spend your free time?

Now that my two wonderful daughters are out of High School sports, I have much more free time. I’m a lifelong learner, and currently learning how to do fiberglass work on a sailboat and working on outboard motors. I love reading, and just finished “Can’t Hurt Me” by David Goggins. What an amazing story of what we are all capable of doing.

I live in Lakewood and my wife and friends love riding our bikes to grab a bite to eat and a beer. I actually like yard work and projects around the house. Hanging with family, sailing, fire pits and anything outdoors or on the water.

Oh yeah, GO BROWNS!
