Just the way you want it.
The migration to and adoption of cloud technology is an ongoing and ever-changing strategy. Today your business may be ideally suited for a public cloud solution, using Applications as a Service (AaaS), the most basic and familiar of cloud-based technologies (think GMail, SalesForce or Quickbooks online.) The right cloud model and services for your business are dependent on your unique business objectives, control, flexibility and cost savings you set out to achieve.
Below are the most common types of cloud services provided today:
The most basic and most familiar of cloud-based technologies. This type of cloud service delivers a specific-use application to clients over a network, typically accessed from a local device’s Internet browser. Common applications include Quickbooks online, SalesForce.com, Gmail, hosted Exchange and Microsoft Office 360.
Rather than purchasing servers, network and data center equipment, clients can obtain and consume computing resources – processing power, memory and storage – from a provider’s data center over a network. Many large companies such as Amazon, Rackspace, HP and IBM are focusing their attention here. This platform alleviates the demand for company IT staff to procure and maintain onsite infrastructure.
This includes the delivery of all the infrastructure and computing resources contained within a data center along with the customer’s application solution set over a network. PaaS is often provisioned as an integrated solution available over the Internet as opposed to just a single application (AaaS) or the computing resources (IaaS). PaaS provides a platform that removes the complexity of owning, setting up and managing local servers and infrastructure.
